Stationery Pal Haul: Affordable Back-to-School & Bujo Supplies

Is there anything quite as exciting as fresh stationery? I don’t think there is!

When the folks at Stationery Pal reached out and asked if I’d like to work together - USD $80 in exchange for a Youtube haul video - I jumped at the chance! I wasn’t familiar with the brand until recently, and I love to see what’s available and share my experiences with you, so you can make a more informed purchase decision. You can watch my Youtube haul video below, or scroll on to see everything I chose!

Your price will not be affected at all - but your purchase will help to support me, my little blog and my Youtube channel, which is always greatly appreciated.

Stationery Pal Hardcover Numbered Notebook - Dotted - Peach: USD $17.50

This A5 notebook got me with its sweet peachy colour, but there are other colours available too. At 100GSM, it has a thinner page than the 160GSM pages I’m now accustomed to, which means it might be a little prone to ghosting or bleeding. The design reminds me a LOT of the Leuchtturm1917 notebooks! I love that it has a contents page and numbered pages - that’s something I missed a lot when I moved away from LT1917 notebooks.

Hardcover Constellation Blank Notebook - White: USD $7.30

I’ve been thinking about trying out a blank notebook for bullet journaling for a while, and this one is so cute! It has rose gold constellation designs on the cover and on the page edges, and is a little smaller than A5. The pages are only 80GSM though, so those who prefer a thicker page will need to look elsewhere. It’s very likely that pens will ghost in this notebook, and some might even bleed through the page.

English Alphabet and Number Wood Stamp - lower case letters: USD $3.30

I’ve wanted letter stamps for my journal for AGES and never took the plunge - until now! I can see myself getting a lot of use out of these! I love that they come in a wooden box to make them easy to store.

English Alphabet and Number Wood Stamp - upper case letters: USD $3.30

I got both upper and lower case letter sets because I could see myself wanting each for different types of layout and theme. The upper case letters remind me of the Babysitters Club!

The stamping technique for these tiny stamps takes a little getting used to: I found brushing the raised part of the stamp gently across my ink pad works better than pressing it in. That way you avoid getting ink on the corners of the stamp, which then transfers to your page when you press it down. You can see where I’ve got ink from those corners in the photo above. I actually still like how it looks - it just depends on what you’re going for! Regardless, if you’re using stamps in your journal I think you’re already aiming for a little imperfection - that’s what makes stamps so charming!

Days and Months Wood Stamp - Days - USD $3.40

I’m a little less excited about these two than the letter stamps - I think I’d prefer they had a similar typewriter sort of font, but they look slightly cursive. I actually really like my own handwriting, so I’d prefer to use that rather than a handwriting-looking stamp, but for those who are less keen on their own script these would be a great choice!

Days and Months Wood Stamp - Months - USD $3.40

As above, these stamps would be a great choice for anyone looking to minimise the amount of their own handwriting they feature in their journal! They also eliminate the risk of accidentally misspelling a month, which is a handy bonus!

Monami Color Twin Brush - Dessert Pastel Set - USD $14.80

I LOVE a pastel moment, and the colour combination of these twin-tipped brush pens is very exciting to me! I love that both ends feature brushes of different sizes, unlike the classic Tombow dual brush pens which sport a brush at one end and a bullet tip at the other. I often find the Tombow brush pens are great for really large lettering but tricky in smaller spaces, so having a smaller brush end on these pens is the answer to my prayers!

Cat Paper Clips - Gold - Set of 8 - USD $0.90

I’m not usually a paper clip kind of girl, but when you shape them like cats I clearly can’t resist. They might sit in my drawer forever, or I might use them as bookmarks or in reels - it remains to be seen. The packaging says it won’t dent the paper, but it did leave a mark on the 80GSM pages of the white constellation notebook when I tried it out for the photo above. It might fare better against a 160GSM page!

Hollow Skeleton Binder Paper Clip - Gold - Large - USD $0.90

This binder clip is HUGE - way bigger than I’d expected! I will absolutely still get great use from it though, I expect I’ll use it for transition reels a LOT! They do also have other sizes available if this one looks like a bit much for your journal.

Sakura Pigma Graphic Pen - Size 3 - 3.0mm - Black - USD $2.50

I’m finally trying the much-hyped Sakura pens that so many in the bullet journal community love! This one has a bold, flat chisel tip, which will make it great for colouring in larger areas or making black blocks to write headings over in white! It could also double as a calligraphy pen if held so that the tip sits horizontally.

Sakura Pigma Micron Pen 003 - 0.15mm - Black - USD $2.10

I didn’t realise just how fine this pen is until I took off the cap - it would be phenomenal for adding fine details to illustrations, or for anyone who likes an unfathomably fine tipped pen for writing in their journal. We only recently got Pigma Micron pens in Officeowrks, our big office retailer in Australia, and they only come in a three-pack for around $20, so this value is unbelievable - $2.10 US is just $2.96 AU.

Tombow Limited Edition MONO Graph Shaker Mechanical Pencil - 0.5mm - Lavender - USD $8.80

I thought it was about time I had a mechanical pencil! This one is apparently limited edition, so if it takes your fancy jump on it while you can. Its big feature is that you can shake it to bring down the lead, although clicking the clip works just fine too. It’s a super fine 0.5mm lead, which doesn’t mean much to me as I usually just end up erasing my pencil lines anyway, but I imagine would be great for technical drawing purposes.

This one’s an interesting case - the item I ordered isn’t actually what arrived in the box, although the Stationery Pal folks have very kindly swapped my choice (which must have been sold out) for a similar item that serves the same purpose. I’m sure this is just because my order wasn’t a proper order - I just listed my choices out in an email, and it’s possible that this item was sold out before they saw my list. I don’t expect this would happen for a paying customer ordering in real time from the website!

What I ordered:
Tombow PiT Retry-C Glue Tape - Pink - USD $3.00

Apparently this glue tape allows you 60 seconds of wiggle room where you can peel up whatever you stuck down and relocate it before the adhesive sets. Once in place, the adhesive gets stronger over time. As someone who always wants to adjust their stickers and papers just slightly after sticking them down, that really appeals to me - and I guess to a lot of others too, as it must have been sold out by the time my order was received. Stationery Pal sent me an alternative glue tape instead:

What I got:
Plus Norino Double-sided Adhesive Glue Tape - 6mm x 8m - Red - USD $2.10

This glue tape is so interesting - it has tiny blue dots on its surface so you can see where you’ve placed it. I’d avoid using it for anything transparent, but for regular opaque paper and the like it would be fine.

Scrapbooking Specialty Paper Bundle - USD $2.50

These gorgeous textured scrapbook papers are super thin and look like they’ve been handmade. I can see myself using these a lot! They are all in neutral tones with various degrees of paper thickness - some are so thin that they’re translucent, while others are quite thick and firm.

Vintage Scrapbooking Paper Pad - Rose - USD $1.30

I love that these are vintage-style without being super-duper brown - they’re more grey toned and cooler neutrals, which sets them apart from lots of the Vintage-style items in my Shein haul. They also come in a convenient pad form, which makes them a bit easier to keep track of than loose papers. Nice and thin, and sized about the same as a mini polaroid photo, I think I’ll be using a lot of these soon!

Milan I love Mistakes Synthetic Eraser - 4806 - USD $2.30

I’m obsessed with this eraser. I love its sentiment, with its big “I HEART MISTAKES” message. That’s something I really try to communicate in my videos: that mistakes are OK, unavoidable and usually fixable! I didn’t realise it was going to be SO DAMN BIG though - it’s almost the same length as my face! Rather than being a downside, I actually love that it’s huge - I won’t need to buy another eraser for a really long time, and I think I’ll giggle every time I use it!

What I ordered:
Mini Sticker Pad - Love Quote - USD $0.70

These cuties must have been sold out too, unfortunately - the stickers I picked out feature a series of love quotes from books and movies, but Stationery Pal sent me a different sticker pack to make up for it:

What I got:
Mini Sticker Pad - Gradient - USD $0.70

While the pastel tones are totally my jam, and I’m in love with some of the moons and butterflies in this sticker pack, the little cartoon creatures just aren’t my thing. I’ll likely pass some of these stickers along to someone else - I just can’t see myself ever using them.

The Freebies

The freebies included with my order were the sweet little teddy, a pink and blue bell, a tiny knitted beanie with “LOVE” across the front, a Cinnamoroll binder clip, a popsicle eraser and a stamp that says “중요” (important). I can’t really see myself using much of this stuff but it’s always a novelty to find extra things in the box! They also included a thank you card and a Christmas bauble gift tag.

I need your help, stationery buddies! Help me name this teddy bear! Leave your suggestions in the comments on this post, or on my Youtube video or Instagram.
