March Bujo 2022: Easy & Fun Pastel Theme with Stickers

I have SO much new stationery at the moment I didn’t know where to start for March! Since I’ve found myself with an abundance of stickers and washi tapes, I figured it was only fitting to use some of them! I took my colour palette inspiration from a new set of washi tapes, matched them to some coloured pens and went from there… then realised I’d chosen my website colours. At least I’m consistent I guess!

Looking for links to all the stuff I used? You’ll find them at the bottom of this post.

How to use Stickers in your Bullet Journal

Stickers are a wonderful way to add decoration to your pages without needing to be artistically skilled - but knowing where to place them is going to take your page from good to great. I like to start by placing my functional elements first - things like trackers, calendars, headings etc. You can draw them in pencil first to make sure they look even and intentional on the page, then add your pen. If you’re using any coloured markers to highlight headings or add drop shadows, add those next - and THEN it’s time for stickers!

Balance is one of the most important things to keep in mind when planning any bujo spread if you want it to look aesthetically pleasing. That means having equal amounts (or almost equal amounts) of things across a spread. On my cover page, I’ve tried to space out my colour blocks so that they never touch another section of the same colour. If something appears in the top left corner, I’ll try to make sure it features in the bottom right corner too. Things don’t need to be symmetrical, they just need to feel comfortably distributed across the pages.

Cover & Calendar Pages - A Scrapbook Sticker Explosion

I knew this would be where the bulk of my stickers end up for this month, so I was happy to get wild with them. I think I tend to go more crazy with stickers than I would if I was doodling!

The cover page features a brush-lettered March header, torn-up pastel post-it notes, stickers washi and more stickers! The calendar page facing is horizontally oriented, so I’ll need to turn the book sideways to use it.

Gratitude Log, Goals, Currently Page; Phone and Sleep Tracker Page

I love a super-efficient spread! I wanted rounded corners on all my boxes for this month, so I’ve extended them up a box above to give me a small space for headings. I love that they look like tabs! These pages will be very full and colourful when they’ve all filled in, so I’ve kept my decoration very minimal and just stuck to a little washi tape at the top and bottom. These washi tapes actually inspired the colour scheme for this whole layout!

The gratitude log has space for a few quick words each day. The goals section is designed to work with my overall goals from the beginning of the year and help me to work towards them! The “Currently” section is a space to note down anything I’m loving right now.

On the facing page, I note down how many hours of phone usage I reach each day - I’m trying to cut this down - and the hours of sleep I get at night. I pull this data from the digital wellbeing and Fitbit apps on my phone.

Spending & Mood Tracker Pages

Again, things are staying minimal around these trackers - they’ll have a lot going on when they’re finished! On the spending tracker side, I note down everything I buy over the course of the month. The “cat” column is short for category - I’ve divided things up into categories like living expenses, car, health, entertainment, business and more. Then, once the month is over, I work out how much I spent in each category and move the totals to my overall cashflow tracker at the beginning of the book.
For the mood tracker, I’ve swatched four Tombow colours at the bottom of the page and matched them to a mood. Each day, I’ll colour the space that corresponds to the day of the month with the colour that best matches my mood for that day.

Habit Tracker & Content Calendar Pages

If I’d thought things through a little further, I would have put the habit and mood tracker pages together and the spending and content calendar pages together… just because that feels like it makes the most sense to me! But I didn’t, so here we are for March. The left page is a habit tracker with space for nine habits - at the moment I’ve only filled in eight, with space for one more if I find the need for it later. When I complete a habit I’ll pop a little dot in the corresponding space.

The content calendar is a new addition - I decided I needed one of these in mid-February, and it’s working well for me so far! It might just be a regular occurrence going forward. I manage a Youtube channel, blog and Instagram account for my bujo adventures, and another blog and Instagram account for my small business, so having a visual reference for everything should help keep me on track - at least, that’s the idea!

Weekly Spread

I’ve become a huge fan of this weekly layout - events on the left page and a running task list or to do list on the right. I’ve brought back the stickers for some decoration on this one and I love it! This is such an easy weekly to recreate - I like to use the same weekly throughout a whole month, and something this simple makes it less tedious to draw up the exact same layout multiple times. Plus, with the sticker element, each spread can still look a bit different!

I like to only set up my first weekly along with the rest of a month, and add the extra weeklies later. I’ll often only set up the events and task list sections in advance, and add my decoration later as I go through the week!
