March 2024 Mushroom Theme: Giveaway Journal Project

March is all about the Mushrooms in my bullet journal setup in the Giveaway Journal. Somehow I had SO much mushroom-themed stationery and I’d never used any of it - now is its moment to shine!

Watch the video below to see how I put it all together, or scroll on down to see some photos.

Cover & Quote Spread

I knew I wanted a mushroom-themed quote for the cover spread and this one is perfect! I love mixing hand lettered key words with letter stamps like this to really make an impact. It requires a bit of planning but it’s worth it!

The cover page uses the same lettering style as the quote keywords, with plenty of negative space to balance out the visual weight of the mushrooms - red is a very commanding colour, so it needs a bit of room to breathe!

To make both pages look cohesive and connected, I’ve added a simple line border around everything.

Floating Box Calendar Spread

I love a floating calendar box setup! It takes a little bit longer to set up than a standard grid calendar, but it has so much impact! It also gives you the opportunity to place the number for each date in a spot where it doesn’t take up any of your planning space.

This kind of calendar will always be a little off-centre (unless you position your Thursdays so they cross the binding, which I don’t love doing) so I’ve offset the extra space on the right page by spreading out the decorations a little more.

Habit, Sleep & Mood Tracker Spread

The habit and sleep tracker elements are pretty straightforward this time - just standard graph-style trackers, but I did make sure they lined up nicely with each other.

I LOVE when I can make a mood tracker into a statement - and these adorable mushrooms were the perfect way to do that! Each mushroom represents a day in March, and the winner can assign colours to their moods in the little key between the two other trackers. Then they can colour in a mushroom for each day in the colour that corresponds to their mood. I bet it will look so cute all filled in!

Snapshot & Meal Tracker Pages

The Snapshot page is one of the most fun to look back on in the future - it really is a snapshot of the person you were in any given month.

The meal planner comes in super handy for anyone who’s wanting to stick to a particular eating plan, has to avoid certain foods, or is looking for ways to save money by grocery shopping in bulk! When I’m using a meal planner in my own journal, I’ve noticed I’m a much more efficient grocery shopper.

Spending Log & Spare Page

The Spending log is an essential for me - I think we all know that by now! A place for tracking expenses, categorising and totalling them is a great way to be aware of where your money’s going, and where it might be saved.

The Spare page is a space for the winner of this journal to add anything they might want to track, remember, or celebrate that I haven’t included in the journal already.

Weekly Spreads - Waterfall Tabs

I love a waterfall tab moment, and these washi tapes were the perfect opportunity to execute some waterfall tabs for March! I love that they show a little of the decoration on the left and right sides of the functional areas, regardless of which week you’re in.
