February 2024 Balletcore Bullet Journal Theme | Giveaway Journal

I’m dedicating this balletcore/coquette/soft girl bullet journal theme to anyone who took ballet classes as a child. I see you and your pointed toes! I’m combining a serene ballet pink and baby blue colour palette with a romantic text washi, icy Frostbloom floral PET tape from the Washi Tape Shop and the most exquisite ballerina sticker sheet from STICKII to pull this Giveaway Journal theme together.

About the Giveaway Journal

This journal isn’t actually mine to keep - it’s a fully-decorated six-month journal, covering from January to June 2024, that I’m giving away to one lucky viewer! [This giveaway is now closed - stay tuned for the July-December Giveaway journal, which I’ll be posting about on my Youtube channel in May!] Since I’m using a lot of paint in my own journal for 2024, I wanted to make sure I’m still making videos that show an easier way to journal, showcasing cute stationery, and using some of the items from my stash that I might not have had the chance to use this year otherwise. I also didn’t want to set up a whole journal, only to then… not use it. So giving it away was the natural choice! You’ll see each month in the Giveaway Journal as it approaches, but just remember it will be long out of my hands by then. I really hope the winner finds it useful and loves living in their new journal!

Cover & Calendar Pages

The bones of this cover/calendar combo are the same as in my January Giveaway Journal pages, but the vibes are completely different - this month we’re going for elegance, grace and romance. I’ve opted for lots of negative space, flowing script lettering and delicate layers of decoration.

Tracker Spread - Habits, Mood & Sleep Trackers

Sometimes I feel ultra-creative with my tracker ideas - and some months I rely on my old favourites to do the thinking for me! I’ve opted for one of my go-to habit tracking styles - stacked habits with each half of the month written out on a separate row.

My sleep trackers don’t really change at all - I just switch up if they’re vertically or horizontally oriented. They work as a bar graph, with the hours one might sleep on one axis (the vertical, this time) and the days of that month on the other (the horizontal in this case).

For the mood tracker, I would have loved to incorporate something illustrative but I didn’t feel like I had the skill to pull off something elegant enough! Instead, I’ve kept it pretty open for the Giveaway Journal winner - they can choose some marker colours to match the theme and colour in each box, doodle their mood in the spaces instead, or simply write a word or two for how they felt each day.

Monthly Snapshot & Spending Tracker Pages

I’m in love with this month’s Snapshot page! The florals of the Frostbloom PET tape I’ve used throughout this theme are mostly pretty large, but I was able to use some of the smaller sections and offcuts to place these little floral pops on the sides of these boxes. It made the perfect backdrop for the header for each box! Goals for the month go in the first box, favourites of the month go in the second box, and anything that’s on your mind this month goes in the last one.

The spending log is the same as last month too - lots of space for tracking spending, and a section to tally it up by category below.

Spare Spread

I’m making sure to include an extra, decorated-but-blank spread or page in each set up for the giveaway journal so the winner can use them to track extra things, keep new collections, use them for memory keeping or vision boards, add quote pages or just have fun making a collaged junk journal page!

Weekly Spread 1

I love an eight-box weekly spread! I realised later that I’ve set the numbers on this one a bit strangely but I LOVE the way it looks, so let’s ignore that for now!

Weekly Spread 2

Strips of washi laid beside each other is one of the most fuss-free ways to decorate, in my humble opinion! Especially if they feature different colours, patterns or textures. This spread has a pink glitter washi on the edges, then a solid pastel blue, then a torn-edge script washi. I could have left it there, but in order to keep it consistent with the rest of the journal I added some florals and ballerinas too.

Weekly Spread 3

If you keep your decoration in the centre of the spread, you can end up with a bold and impactful moment with plenty of negative space around it! This weekly feels like a little portal into a fairytale ballet world!

Weekly Spread 4

If you prefer a bit more structure, this is one of my go-to weeklies. Not specifically vertical or horizontal - the boxes have heaps of room for planning while still allowing plenty of pretty to happen on the page.

Fun fact - I ran out of the blue solid washi tape while setting up this spread! Since I’d used it to line the edge of every decorative box except the top right one on the left page, beside Monday, I had to improvise - I used a light blue Tombow (the 491) to colour in the same space the washi would have occupied. I think it worked well! Would you have noticed if I didn’t mention it?
